Why should I make a reservation at the hotel Europaeischer Hof?

There are several important reasons for making a reservation at the Europaeischer Hof Heidelberg:

May I bring my dog with me?

Of course you can bring your dog, your cat or any other pet to our hotel. Our four-legged guests are just as important to us as the two-legged ones. By the way: We also offer a great dog package. Maybe we can tempt you?

Is it possible to book an extra bed or a cot?

We are happy to add an extra bed to your booking per person per night. Upon request, we would also be happy to provide a cot free of charge.

Can children be included in the booking for free? If so, until what age?

Children aged 0 to 5 years can stay in their parents’ room for free. From the age of 6 and older, children may use an extra bed for 59 EUR.

Is the reception manned 24 hours a day?

Yes, our colleagues are here for you around the clock, so you always have a contact person to take care of your needs. This way, your safety is also guaranteed.

Can I purchase vouchers online?

Definitely. A delicious dinner in the fine dining restaurant Kurfürstenstube or a soothing wellness treatment in our PANORAMA SPA. Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can change your booking. Just contact us directly. Usually, it is no problem to cancel your booking 48 hours prior to arrival. Should you get tied up or wish to cancel your room at a later point, we will make the room available to other guests. If we are unable to rebook the room, 90 percent of the room rate would be due.

Is there free WIFI available?

Internet is available free of charge in all of our rooms and public areas (bandwidth 1 to 10 mbit/s).

Is a business centre available?

Two cabins each with a computer and printer are at your disposal at the reception.
Arrival and parking

How far is the hotel away from the old town?

Heidelberg's old town is about 200 m away from the Europäischer Hof and offers a variety of shopping opportunities. At 1.5 km, the pedestrian zone is the longest shopping mile in Germany and perfectly accessible on foot.

How do we get from the hotel to the castle?

The best way to reach Heidelberg Castle is using the funicular railway from Kornmarkt. It is located within 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel. When the weather is nice, we recommend walking to the castle and taking the funicular railway on the way back down. On foot, you will also begin at the funicular railway station. Of course, you can also drive the car up to the castle. There is a limited number of parking spaces in front of the entrance.

How far is the hotel from the University Hospital?

The prestigious University Hospital in Heidelberg is 3.5 km far away from the Europäischer Hof.

Where is the closest cash machine?

You will find the nearest cash machine (Deutsche Bank) 200 metres from the hotel.

Do you offer shuttles from the airport? What do they cost?

We can gladly help you organize an airport shuttle at an additional charge and upon availability. We do not offer a regular shuttle.

Do you have parking spaces or a parking garage?

A public underground parking garage is adjacent to our hotel (parking garage P5). The price depends on how long your car is parked. It is not necessary to reserve a parking space in advance.
Check-in and check-out

What are the times for check-in and check-out?

We guarantee your room to be ready from 3 pm on the day of arrival, check-out time is 12 noon. Should you wish to check in earlier or check out later, please ask us about it. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending, on availability and upon request (for an additional charge).

Can I store my luggage at the hotel?

We would be happy to store your luggage for you while you spend time in town before checking in or after checking out. Your luggage will be safe in our storage room until you return.
Hotel life

Are the hotel rooms quiet?

The hotel is situated at the heart of Heidelberg. However, the side roads surrounding the hotel are very calm and don’t see much traffic, so you will be able to enjoy a good night’s sleep. In case you want to be absolutely sure, why don’t you book one of our Comfort rooms? All Comfort rooms are facing our quiet, beautifully green inner courtyard. A sanctuary in the middle of Heidelberg.

Do you have smoking rooms?

We have a limited number of smoking rooms, which we cannot guarantee in advance. We can only allocate these rooms upon availability at the day of arrival. You also have the option to smoke on the terrace of the beautiful inner courtyard or in our new smokers’ lounge in the heart of Heidelberg.

Do you have accessible rooms?

We have a very limited number of wheelchair-accessible rooms, which we cannot guarantee in advance. We can only allocate these rooms upon availability at the day of arrival.

Do you have rooms with walk-in showers?

Due to the limited number of rooms with walk-in shower, we are unfortunately not able to guarantee these rooms in advance. We can only allocate these rooms upon availability at the day of arrival.

Are all rooms in the hotel air-conditioned?

All of our hotel rooms are air-conditioned.

Can I see the castle from my hotel room?

You can see the castle from our Penthouse Suite, while relaxing on our sun terrace or when training at our gym above the rooftops of Heidelberg.

Do you have hypoallergenic bedding available?

Important note for allergy sufferers: Here, you can take a deep breath. We are happy to offer you bedding suitable for allergy sufferers. Please let us know if you require this when making your reservation in our privately run 5-star hotel. By the way: All our rooms are equipped with mite-safe mattress covers and our mattresses are regularly cleaned professionally.

Are there also adjoining rooms with connecting doors?

Due to the limited number of rooms with connecting doors we are not able to guarantee these rooms in advance. We can only allocate these rooms upon availability at the day of arrival.
Food and drinks

Do you have a bar?

Yes, our Europa Bar is open daily starting at 5:00 pm

Do you have a restaurant?

Yes, we do. Our fine dining restaurant 'Die Kurfürstenstube' is open in the winter months and our 'Sommerrestaurant' is open in the summer months. Both restaurants are open continuously Monday to Sunday from 12:00 to 23:00. Food orders are taken until 21:00. Due to the often high demand, we ask for reservations in good time.

What time is breakfast served?

We welcome you to our breakfast on weekdays between 06:30 am and 11:00 am and on Sunday between 7:00 am and 11:30 am. We are happy to offer you our gourmet breakfast or for the small hunger in the morning also a selection of small breakfast variations:

Gourmet breakfast for 38 Euro per person and day | Children up to and including 5 years are invited | Children from 6-10 years pay 50%

"Small Sweet" Breakfast for 13,50 Euro per person and day | One hot drink of your choice OR one glass of juice, two croissants, one portion of butter, one portion of jam and one portion of honey

Can I have breakfast or brunch as a non-hotel guest?

External breakfast guests are also very welcome here if you want to have a really extensive breakfast in a beautiful ambience in Heidelberg.

Do you have lactose- and gluten-free food?

We are happy to offer lactose- and gluten-free food upon request. Please let us know your special dietary requirements when making your reservation, so that we can prepare plenty of appetising food for you.

SPA & Fitness

What are the opening hours of the SPA area?

The PANORAMA SPA is open from Monday to Sunday from 09:00 to 21:00 and has an indoor pool, sauna, sanarium and steam bath.

Is there a fitness area?

The fitness area with the latest Technogym equipment is open 24 hours daily. You can train around the clock with a view of the famous Heidelberg Castle.

Do I need to sign up to use the SPA?

A registration for using the PANORAMA SPA or fitness area is not necessary. We recommend a reservation for the beauty area for massages and cosmetic treatments.

Is there a minimum age for using the Spa area?

As long as they are accompanied, we are even happy to welcome babies. Without accompaniment, we welcome our guests from the age of 16.

Can I use the SPA after checking out?

Of course. You may deposit your luggage with us after check-out and go and relax in the Spa.

Can I visit the spa as an external guest?

Even as a non-hotel guest, we look forward to your visit to the PANORAMA SPA. We offer you various options, from annual club membership to short visits. Please feel free to contact us!

Do I need to bring swimwear?

Yes. Nude bathing is not allowed.

Do I need to bring towels?

No, towels are available free of charge for hotel guests as well as for external guests
Activities

Can I hire bicycles at the hotel?

We will be happy to organise bicycles from a bicycle rental service during your stay at our hotel upon availability.

Where is the best place to go shopping? Is there an outlet nearby?

You will find everything all around our hotel! The hotel is situated in the centre of Heidelberg. The main attraction for shopping is the Hauptstraße, Germany’s longest pedestrian zone. Next to famous brands and stores, you will also find owner-managed shops that look back onto a long tradition. A very unique array of businesses awaits you when walking through the small side streets along the Hauptstraße. If you are looking for international Designers like Gucci, Prada, Hermes or Louis Vuitton, the best places to go are Mannheim (20 km from Heidelberg) or Frankfurt (80 km from Heidelberg). The closest outlet is in Metzingen (Outletcity Metzingen) which is 150 km away from the hotel.
